An impactful yet sincere conversation.
When asked what I do, I reply, "I'm a coach who overcame homelessness and now helps others close those financial gaps."
Their reply is, "That sounds interesting. Can you tell me more?"
My reply: "Sure. At the end of my talks, I am asked, "Why didn't my family or school teach me these principles?
The core issue is that when one generation neglects to learn from its mistakes, it ends up passing flawed principles to the next. This cycle creates significant financial gaps in areas such as money management, asset protection, and debt elimination, affecting future generations."
Their reply: "I now understand what my parents meant when I sought their financial advice. They would often say, "My parents never taught me about money, so it's up to you to find your own way."
"Rickey, I have one final question: How can you share more of your expertise with me? Additionally, would you be willing to be a speaker at our upcoming event?"
"I glad you asked that question. The answer is yes to both."
